New countertops can transform a kitchen or bathroom, and knowing what's coming makes the whole project smoother. Because we fabricate and install in-house, the same team takes your project from the first measurement to the final walkthrough.
It starts with a free estimate. We talk through the space, the material you have in mind, edge profiles, sinks and any extras like a bar top or backsplash. If you're also redoing cabinets, we can design them too, including 3D cabinet designs so you can see the layout before anything is built.
Next comes slab selection. With natural stone, every slab is different, so we encourage you to see it in person and pick the one you love. This is also when we talk about where seams will fall and how the pattern will flow across the counters.
Then we template. Once your base cabinets are installed and level, we take precise measurements of the space. It helps to have your sink and faucet on site, and the specs for your cooktop or range, so the cutouts are exact. If anything changes after templating, let us know right away.
After templating, the stone is fabricated in our shop: cut to size, cutouts made for the sink and cooktop, and edges shaped and polished. Timing depends on the material and the size of the job. We'll give you a realistic schedule for your project.
On install day, clear the countertops and the cabinets underneath, and make sure there's a clear path from the door to the room. The crew sets the stone, mounts undermount sinks, seams and levels the pieces, and cleans up. If you chose natural stone, we'll go over sealing and care before we leave. One note on plumbing: the sink and faucet will need to be reconnected, and in some cases the cooktop too. Ask us when you schedule how that will be handled for your job, so you're not left without a working sink.
